The premise: Create innovative new clothing and accessories representative of creative culture in Detroit.

So, starting in May 2010, DL! took large panels of duck cloth (sturdy canvas) to summer fairs and festivals inviting people to illustrate on them. All walks of life had fun with it– kids, grandparents, and everything in between. All of this is was done with the idea that once the canvas panels were full, the fabric would be re-purposed to create new DL! pieces– zip totes, pockets on t-shirts, tote bags, laptop bags, heck, maybe even stuffed animals.

The first pieces created from the panels of canvas were done for the Detroit Urban Craft Fair, December 4-5, 2010. See them below:
